Actor, director and photographer Dennis Hopper captured iconic photographs of the Grateful Dead in 1967, documenting the band during the height of the San Francisco counterculture movement. These candid, black-and-white images featured Jerry Garcia, Bob Weir, and Phil Lesh, capturing the band's early, raw energy. Hopper would go on to direct the seminal Easy Rider in 1969, the movie that defined the hippie generation.
