The Dancing Bears and Grateful Dead: it’s almost impossible to imagine one without the other! When artist Bob Thomas designed the Dancing Bears for Grateful Dead soundman Owsley “Bear” Stanley, they were only to appear on the back cover of the band’s 1973 album The History of the Grateful Dead, Volume 1 (Bear’s Choice). Little did he or anyone know that they would become as synonymous with the Dead as trading bootleg tapes, improvised jam sessions, and global counterculture!
This 3.75” articulated Grateful Dead figure of the Electric Yellow Dancing Bear features blue chest fur, a sculpt that brings the iconic 2D logos into the third dimension without the assistance of any psychedelic aids, and a stand that allows the figure to be posed in a dance, prance, or pretty much whatever stance suits your mood by chance. Get ready to dance away your troubles and your cares, and collect the Grateful Dead ReAction Dancing Bears! Collect all 6 Dancing Bears in Stealie Blue, Leafy Green, Ashbury Orange, Haight Purple, Electric Yellow, and Stealie Red!
