We're stoked to announce we've teamed up with the legendary Evan Dando, one of our favourite all time songwriters, to celebrate the release of the new Lemonheads album Love Chant, out later this month, with a capsule collection honouring his stellar back catalogue. What started out as a Boston punk band in 1986 with Evan, Ben Deily, and Jesse Peretz had evolved into a melodic country, pop punk rock outfit for 1990's brilliant Lovey. Released a year before the commercial explosion of 'grunge', Dando was still honing his songwriting and two years later when the powerhouse brilliance of It's A Shame About Ray was released in 1992 it redefined him as not only genius lyricist but a slacker pin up gracing numerous magazine covers and one of People's top 50 'Most Beautiful People'. The records that followed, '93's Come On Feel the Lemonheads and 96's Car Button Cloth, were both perfect power pop records, showcasing his ability to cross genres and dig into the eclectic roots of American music from the likes of Gram Parsons, Big Star, Townes Van Sant, Rick James, Sneaky Pete Kleinow and Lou Reed among others.
Drop One of this celebration brings together two bastions of Americana - The Lemonheads and Peanuts. Many of Evans lyrics perfectly align with Schulz's Peanuts sentiments. His favourite character in the strip being the laconic Spike, Snoopy's desert dwelling brother, a simpatico pairing if there ever was one. Each t-shirt design references a specific song from Evan's back catalog, from If I Could Talk I'd Tell You to Rudderless and the very apt Favorite T alongside a reproduction of a rare parking lot My Drug Buddy bootleg from 1992.
This collection is not only a paean to the Lemonheads musical output but also Evan Dando's uncompromising artistic attitude, the same attitude that pervades the new album Love Chant - a bold, melodic reaffirmation of one of alternative rock’s most distinctive voices.

If I could talk I'd tell you
If I could smile I'd let you know
You are far and away
