From Hell’s Angels and hippies to Hollywood stars and musicians, Jerry’s Place on the Sunset Strip hosted all of the counterculture’s milieu. A notorious 1950’s dive bar, it was closed down in the mid 60s due to repeated drug busts. It was reopened and renamed after the Grateful Dead frontman in 1968 and became a mecca for disparate outcasts across the social strata, it’s skeleton logo complete with half a right middle finger just like Jerry.
