Wilson would open the place when the mood struck, often late at night, serving customers while wearing pyjamas, a bathrobe, and slippers. He frequently bought his own stock in bulk, sometimes racking up bills close to $1,000. He also once refused to sell a journalist a bottle of Vitamin B-12 without a doctor’s note.
