TSPTR x J AUGUR YAM BAG
Each 'Yam' bag is hand crafted from original WWII military barracks bags, comprised of two complimentary military drawstring barracks bags to make the body, the strap, and the pockets. The shoulder straps are double layered and quilted and can be worn folded or open, for comfort, and weight distribution. Authentic military stencilled materials are incorporated into the body, outer/inner pockets and shoulder straps. The ‘yam’ bag is unlined for lightweight soft, yet strong, carrying–all seams and edges are bound or closed and top stitched for strength and wear. It is patched if needed to insure durability. All materials have been thoroughly laundered and repaired. This bag is made from bags made over 80 years ago!! And they will likely last another 80 years!!
The Barracks Bag was an approximately 25″ x 38″ cloth bag utilized to store and transport a soldier’s personal clothing that was in addition to what he was wearing. Generally two such Barracks Bags were issued to each soldier, often marked “A” and “B” in large letters near the bottom seam of the bag. Additionally their names, serials numbers and other identifying information could be stenciled or penned on the bags….whether they were denim or khaki/tan bags.
PLEASE NOTE: Each piece is hand made, one-of-a-kind
